In 1998, the Genopole was created in Evry. The French government chose this “new city” in order to help Evry avoid the fate of a bedroom suburb and see it develop into a thriving business centre.
The Genopole campus revolves around genomics, post-genomics and related sciences as well as extensive advanced training. Thanks to Université d’Evry-Val d’Essonne, over 1,800 people in 26 academic research laboratories and 51 innovative biotechs are located on 71,000 square metres of space.
